The Kenya Kwanza Government promised to review the role of the National Cohesion and Integration Commission.
The procedure for the review of the NCIC’s role is ongoing, particularly through the The National Cohesion and Integration Bill, 2023, which was first read at the National Assembly on 20th March 2024. The Bill significantly alters the functions of the NCIC and proposes to repeal the National Cohesion and Integration Act, 2008. There has, however, not been any progress on the Bill since it was first read.
