Ministry of Sports unveiled plans to revamp three stadiums to meet international standards including Kasarani Stadium, Nyayo Stadium, and Kipchoge Keino Stadium (Eldoret) respectively ahead of AFCON 2027

September 2023: Kenya, together with Uganda and Tanzania, successfully secured the bid to host the prestigious 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON). The hosts, Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania would automatically qualify for the 2027 edition of AFCON.
