600,000 youth will work under Affordable Housing from the next month.

President Ruto announced on 14 July 2025 that from the following month (August 2025), 600,000 youth will be employed under the Affordable Housing program. This was a massive employment promise linked to the government’s flagship housing initiative.

 

 

  • He stated that at the time, already 320,000 young people were working under the Affordable Housing Program and by the next month the number would have doubled. 
  • There is no public record confirming the number had doubled in a month, however, in November 2025, President Ruto stated that around 600,000 youths had been absorbed into the Affordable Housing Programme nationally, with a target of reaching one million jobs by 2026.
  • Still, there is no public record confirmimng that the President’s clain that the number doubled to 600,000 youths in November 2025.
