Inauguration of the Isiolo Export Abattoir

In July 2026, President William Ruto is expected to officially commission the Isiolo Export Abattoir, after taking 17 years to complete after stalling under successive administrations, and is expected to mark a significant milestone in Kenya’s efforts to build a globally competitive livestock industry.

As of August 2026, the official commissioning of the Isiolo Export Abattoir by the president has not yet happened.
