Construction of a new modern arena in Nairobi

In February 2026, President William Ruto announced plans to construct a new modern arena in Nairobi.

The announcement was part of a broader modernisation push that also includes the Talanta Stadium, a world-class conference facility at Bomas, and a new airport.
In April 2026, the President witnessed the signing of a lease agreement between Zaria Group and Kenya Railways Corporation for the building of a modern arena and Entertainment District in Nairobi. The targeted completion window for the project is under 12 months.
