Improvement of County Governments’ capacity to generate own income
The Kenya Kwanza government promised to improve county governments’ capacity to generate their own income in order to reduce their over-reliance on transfers from the national government.
Since election in 2022, the Kenya Kwanza Government has supported initiatives geared towards enabling county governments improve their capacity for own source generation. Some of the measures supported by the Kenya Kwanza Government include: Phase 4 and Phase 5 of TADAT training and assessment of the County revenue administration systems aimed at enabling county governments to develop medium-term revenue enhancement action plans; the UNCDF/CoB REAP Workshop and the CRA/World Bank REAP Workshop aimed at supporting County governments to develop their revenue enhancement action plans (REAPs).
