Kenya Kwanza Administration committed to keep disbursing County Funds in time to enable Counties discharge their mandate without financial challenges.
To prove the commitment, the National Government ensured that all the funds meant for Counties were disbursed in time before crossing over to the new financial year.
However, the county governments still have a long way to go before they can be fully reliant on their own revenue.
March 4th 2024: President William Ruto assents to the County Governments Additional Allocations Bill 2023 that will see counties receive an additional Ksh 46 billion in the 2023/2024 financial year.
