Eradicate Malnutrition

The Kenya Kwanza Government promised that it would eradicate malnutrition within five years.

The promise of eradicating malnutrition is not on track to be met as it continues to be a critical concern, especially in arid and semi-arid lands, which face food insecurity and other challenges.
There has been an increase in the number of cases of malnourished children from 760,488 children in 2025 to 810,871 cases of acutely malnourished children in 2026. Similarly, the number of pregnant and breastfeeding women requiring nutritional support has risen from 112,401 to 116,796.
