Strengthening Konza Technopolis

The Kenya Kwanza government promised to strengthen the Konza Technopolis.

The Technopolis Bill (National Assembly Bill No. 6 of 2024) was introduced to replace the previous 2023 version.
Unlike the original bill which was specific to Konza, this new law establishes a Technopolis Development Authority to oversee the creation and management of multiple tech hubs across all 47 counties, not just Konza.
The National Assembly passed the bill on November 19, 2024, and it moved to the Senate, where it reached the Second Reading stage by July 2025.
In October 2025, President Ruto officially launched Phase One of the horizontal infrastructure.
