Allocation of 5% of all market stalls to PWDs

The Kenya Kwanza government made a promise to ensure that 5% of all market stalls are allocated to Persons With Disabilities (PWDs).

• In May 2025, President Ruto assented to the Persons with Disabilities Bill 2025, which mandates the National and County governments to reserve at least 5% of market stalls for PWDs.
• While the legal framework is in place, practical implementation and enforcement are still lagging.
