11th December 2023: The government has prioritized dueling of Malaba-Eldoret highway as a legacy project to enhance its trade thus boosting revenue collection beyond Sh7 billion at Malaba. The project aligns with the government’s commitment to expanding key transportation networks to accommodate the increasing volume of trade and travel.
16th October 2023: National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula has announced plans for the expansion of the busy Malaba-Kanduyi highway into a dual carriageway by the 2024–25 financial year, bringing relief to residents of Malaba. This is in a bid to boost the economy of Western Kenya and bordering towns.
