The Kenya Kwanza government promised to complete all roads under construction.
On 30th April 2023, President William Ruto launched four multi-billion shilling road projects that will cover Kajiado, Bomet, Kakamega, Nandi and Uasin Gishu Counties cumulatively costing more than Sh 10.7 billion.
In July 2023, the government began the construction of the 478-kilometer Lake Victoria ring road which connects counties sharing the lake. Sub-South legislator Caroli Omondi said the road will transform the economy of the region as it will open up tourism and regional trade.
The Kenya Rural Roads Authority has also called for contractors for a total of 627 proposed projects. A list of completed and uncompleted road projects is available for tracking.
