Integrate schools to allow children with disabilities to start early interactions with the general public

The Kenya Kwanza government promised to integrate schools to allow children with disabilities to start interacting with the general public at an early age to restore their confidence and self-esteem.

  • The Persons with Disabilities Act was enacted in 2025. It establishes and strengthens rights to inclusive education, free medical care in public facilities, accessibility obligations, and county duties related to ECDE and support measures for persons with disabilities.
  • However, no public records are available on the roll out of integrated schools.
