Connecting All Schools to the Internet for Improved Learning Outcomes

The Kenya Kwanza government promised to improve learning outcomes by pledging to connect all schools to the Internet.

• In the Smart Poles project launched in June 2023, the KPLC CEO stated that they’re engaged in a discussion with the Ministry of ICT to provide infrastructure for internet connectivity targeting public institutions such as schools and hospitals through a framework that is yet to be developed.
• So far, the second phase of the Digischool internet project is ongoing in Machakos after a successful completion of phase 1, which benefited up to 6000 students.
