The Kenya Kwanza government promised to expedite the process of registration of new religious organisations.
Whilst the Presidential Taskforce on the review of the Legal and and Regulatory Framework Governing Religious Organisations in Kenya was established after the Shakahola massacre, this taskforce and its consequent report and legislative proposals, did not address the promise and has not proposed measures to expedite the process of registration of new religious organisations.
