Mutual legal assistance with partner states

The Kenya Kwanza government committed to strengthening Mutual Legal Assistance arrangements with partner States with respect to the sharing of information and repatriation of stolen assets.

In August 2023, Kenya signed an agreement on mutual legal assistance in criminal matters with Mozambique, and with Pakistan in December 2024, with an aim of information sharing and repatriation of stolen assets.
On 16th September 2025, EACC hosted a delegation from the World Bank for strategic discussions aimed at strengthening collaboration in the fight against corruption and economic crimes which included inter-agency collaboration under the World Bank’s Stolen Asset Recovery (StAR) initiative.
