Operationalization of the Public Benefits Organisations Act

The Kenya Kwanza Government promised to operationalise the Public Benefits Organisations Act and expand space for government-NGO partnerships and collaborations.

The Act came into operation on the 14th of May 2024 through a gazette notice issued through the Ministry of Interior and National Administration.
The Public Benefits Organization was introduced as the regulator and assumes the Board’s functions, rights, and liabilities from the date of commencement of the Act.
