The Kenya Kwanza Government promised to leverage our international athletics brand to develop a domestic sports apparel manufacturing cluster.
In 2023, the State Department for Sports under the Ministry of Youth Affairs, Creative Economy and Sports committed to contributing to Goal 9 of the UN 2030 Agenda for sustainable development by establishing a domestic sports apparel manufacturing cluster as part of its strategic plan for the years 2023 through 2027.
The pledge to build a sports apparel manufacturing cluster is formally anchored in policy and strategic planning but remains at an early implementation phase. The government has not yet publicly launched a fully operational, dedicated sports apparel manufacturing cluster as a distinct industrial entity.
