Establish diaspora forum for review of progress

The Kenya Kwanza Government promised to establish a diaspora forum that will review the progress of national government services to the diaspora and make the necessary recommendations.

In October 2023, the PS Diaspora Affairs conducted the diaspora engagement forums in various countries, namely, Canada and Germany.
A new Diaspora Bill is currently under development (as of mid-2025) to formalize these review processes into law, protecting diaspora property rights and enhancing their electoral participation.
While the forum has not yet been properly established, the government has made efforts to highlight services to the diaspora. For example, in May 2026, the government is set to make a voluntary report on the implementation of the Global Compact for Safe, Orderly and Regular Migration (GCM) in New York.
