The Kenya Kwanza committed to respecting the Judiciary in a bid to foster constitutional and democratic systems by operationalising the Judiciary Fund in a bid to uphold the independence of the Judiciary.
The fund was operationalised on the 11th of August 2022, a month before the Kenya Kwanza government took office. The Treasury loaded Sh9 billion into the Judiciary Fund in 2022, the half-year budget for 2022/2023.
As of May 2026, however, the Judiciary registrar has moved to Parliament to request additional funding allocation to the Judiciary in preparation for the national elections in 2027.
