Infrastructure & Capacity Building

The Kenya Kwanza government promised the establishment of an MSME Business Development Center in every ward and an industrial park and business incubation center in every TVET institution.

  • While government efforts, policy initiatives, and partner projects are in progress.
  • Despite policy promises, the rollout of ward-level MSME/business centers and industrial parks has lagged due to underfunding, contractor delays, land/title issues, uneven county implementation, and weak infrastructure; MSMEs continue to cite lack of finance, market linkages, and awareness of support services as persistent constraints.
  • June 2025: TVET in Nakuru received a major boost with the establishment of a Business Incubation and Innovation Centre, to help nurture entrepreneurial ideas among the youth in the area.
  • KJET, NYOTA, and C4E projects launched — grassroots programmes building MSME competitiveness in every ward.
