Establishment of a sporting heroes’ benevolent fund

The Kenya Kwanza Government pledged to establish a sporting heroes’ compassionate (benevolent) fund.

In late 2023, Athletics Kenya launched the Athletics Kenya Veterans Endowment Fund and the Mwanariadha Pension Initiative to help veterans and retiring athletes with a fallback plan, as athletes’ careers are short.
